Finishing first in the International Wine Challenge’s Fairtrade Award and second in Drinks Business’ Best Ethical Company of the Year were major validations for Wellington’s Bosman family, whose concern for social and environmental sustainability is deep and enduring - 260 full-time staff have been shareholders since 2008 (and the new name of the agri-business, Bosman Adama, recognises the forebear of many of the employee families). The Fairtrade wines (listed separately under De Bos Handpicked Vineyards) and BFV bottlings are vinified by consultant winemaker Corlea Fourie, and include a de rigueur ‘orange wine’ and a rosé from all 47 varieties planted on the various home farms.
